My Story

Hi, I’m Marisa, founder of The Alchemy Agency and a lifelong believer in the power of great product and even better partnerships.

With over 17 years of experience in buying, merchandising, and e-commerce, I’ve led strategy for both national retailers and niche lifestyle brands. I’ve sat in big meetings negotiating with major vendors, and I’ve also walked the floor of my own independent shop, knowing firsthand what it takes to make every square foot count. From launching new categories at Zappos to building my own curated retail brand, I’ve lived the full lifecycle of product, people, and placement.

I represent brands I believe in. Brands with a story. Brands with soul. And I work hard to earn the trust of both the brand and the buyer. I know how important it is that your product ends up in the right places and that it’s represented with clarity, creativity, and care. Every account, every relationship, every pitch is handled with pride and professionalism.

When I’m not deep in line sheets or retail strategy, you’ll usually find me outside hiking, camping, or exploring with my family. I also love a good book, a strong coffee, and any excuse to unplug and get into nature.

I spent over 15 years at Zappos, where I led multi-million-dollar assortments and helped launch key categories in outdoor, performance, and activewear. From forecasting trends to negotiating vendor terms, I gained a detailed understanding of what makes a product and a partnerships not only successful but thrive.

Founder Energy

As the founder of my own retail brand and boutique, I’ve been in the weeds, buying, marketing, building Shopify, and connecting with customers one-on-one. I know the grind, the heart, and the magic it takes to grow something meaningful.

Analytics Meets Intuition

With a background in planning, sell-through, and trend forecasting, I bring both analytical clarity and strong product instinct to every brand I represent. Trend spotting has been part of my success, from identifying what’s next to knowing when to hold back. I know that growing a business isn't just about moving fast, it's about making the right decisions at the right time. That balance of data and intuition has guided my work across every retail chann

My career has been built around omnichannel retail. From pitch decks to floor sets, I’ve developed strategies that span e-commerce, brick and mortar, and national retailers. I know how to tailor assortments by channel, support different types of buyers, and translate brand identity across every touchpoint. Whether a product is launching online or landing in-store, I help position it for real results.

Niche Market Knowledge

My experience in women’s active and outdoor has taught me the importance of both performance and storytelling. I understand what drives this customer, what sells at retail, and how to position brands that serve her well no matter if she’s headed to the trail or the studio.

I believe sales is a form of service and that representation comes with responsibility. I only work with brands I genuinely believe in, and when I do, I’m committed to building trust on both sides of the relationship. I take the time to understand each retailer, listen closely, and lead with respect. For me, success comes from long-term alignment where everyone benefits including the brand, the store, and the customer.
